Assignment for 11/30/07
Assignment for Friday, November 30, 2007
Due Monday, December 3, 2007
Good effort in class today on the review sheet. Tonight’s homework, I’ve decided, will be the same thing I assigned to those gone today on the Combined class filed trip:
p. 494 #1-11 odd and 19-31 odd, plus do the rest of the word problems worksheet (which is only problems #4 and #5). Check your answers in the back of the text.

Can anyone explain how to do question 31 on the homework? I have no idea how to solve it…

To solve a right triangle means to find all sides and angles. Find the missing angle by using the fact that all triangles’ angles add up to 180. Then, find side ML by using tan of 37 and the adjacent side. Then either use cos of 37 to find the hypotenuse or use pythagorean theorem to find the third side.
Break the problem down into smaller steps. What do I know? If I know two sides, I find the third side. If I know two angles, I find the third angle. Then I use trig to work on the other pieces.
