Hello IHS!
Welcome to the Geometry Blog. I’ll be posting homework assignments, notes from class, and links to useful website on this blog. I welcome your comments and participation on OUR blog. Eventually I hope to have students post questions about the homework or the lecture and to have other students answer the questions. What do YOU think will make this blog most helpful to you?

It’s easy to post a comment. Just click on the word ‘comments’. You won’t have to give your name, unless you want to. You do have to state your email address, but it will not be able to be seen by anyone but Mr. Jones, who is the moderator of comments on this site.

Read through the various Class Notes postings (click on the ‘Class Notes’ in the Catagories box to see just those posts). There are a few easy EC points just waiting there to be claimed.
Also, each Test will have some extra credit points embedded within the other questions. I don’t like to add them at the end, because then the people who most need them are less likely to try them. The typical 100 point test might have 105 or 108 possible points.
Sometimes the homework after a test is extra credit/optional. it’s an easy way to pad the homework portion of your grade by doing that work.
Other than that, I don’t like for students to be trying to do a bunch of extra work, because in my experience either a) the students who do the extra work don’t need any extra credit or b) the students work hard on the extra stuff and let the important regular stuff slide, so the net effect on their grade is negative.
The best way to earn the best grade is to never get behind and never miss an assignment.
